“Quiet Spots” Public Art Installation
Alanna Baird’s art installation “Quiet Spots” is a river of brightly coloured acoustical felt circles in all sizes and colours lining 15 panels of the walking track’s walls. Each panel is 15 to 20 feet in length, so there are more spots than we can count! As the river flows through the District of Carleton North, people of all sizes and colours flow through and around the R.G. “Bun” Veysey Active Living Centre – it’s the spot to be!

Quiet Spots – Unveiling
Our community came together to celebrate the official unveiling of Quiet Spots, a public art project that encourages reflection, connection, and creativity.
Mayor Andrew Harvey had the honour of placing the final spot, symbolizing the project’s completion. Artist Alanna Baird, whose vision brought Quiet Spots to life, joined us for the event.
As part of the celebration, the Public Art Plaque was also unveiled, providing visitors with insight into the meaning of the installation and the process from proposal to concept to completion.
We are proud to showcase Quiet Spots. We invite everyone to visit the R.G. “Bun” Veysey Active Living Centre to take a moment to enjoy it and discover your favourite spot.
