Public Works Lead
The District of Carleton North is currently seeking a dedicated and experience Public Works Lead to support the Public Works Manager by performing technical and operational duties that ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operations of the District’s public works infrastructure. This position plays a key role in the maintenance of municipal roads, water and wastewater systems, drainage, and solid waste operations.
Main Duties:
- Conduct Daily inspections of the water system and wastewater collection sites to ensure equipment is operating properly
- Maintain accurate records of water and wastewater inspections, sampling/testing, and assist in compiling reports.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of water and wastewater collection systems, including lagoon and berm vegetation management.
- Operate, maintain, and monitor public works infrastructure, including storm drainage systems, roads, sidewalks, and municipal signage.
- Perform quarterly water meter reading for residents.
- Support maintenance of municipal facilities and buildings, grounds, and equipment as required.
- Perform other technical and administrative duties as assigned by the Public Works Manager.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in public works operations or a related field.
- Valid New Brunswick drivers license Class 5.
- Criminal Record Check and Clean Driving Abstract.
- Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
- WHMIS Certificate (asset)
- Confined Space and WATCM (Work Area Control Manual) training an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
