Candidates for Mayor
Andrew Harvey (incumbent)
I am honoured to have served as your mayor for the past three years. Working side by side with my fellow councillors and with our dedicated staff has been a very rewarding experience. We have listened to and learned from each other and have acted responsibly as your municipal government to protect our rural way of life, grow our economy and bring our area together as one.
I offer my experience, as a former Member of the Legislative Assembly, Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Local Government, and for the past three years as your Mayor; to continue working with the provincial government, local business leaders and community volunteers in moving our area forward.
Together we have worked hard to advance many files in our 1st term but there is still much more to do. I am excited about the current and future economic growth in the District of Carleton North and how this increased economic activity will generate opportunities for our people. I believe that our best days are still ahead of us and that by working together we will continue to get positive results in our communities and for our people.
I offer my experience, leadership and energy to you as Mayor of the District of Carleton North for the next term. My office door is always open. You can reach me at 506-245-1444 or andrewharvey506@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
In the upcoming election I ask for your support so we can continue growing … together.
Charles MacDonald
I was raised in Royalton and graduated from Centreville High School. My wife and I have called Bath home for 46 years, where we raised our family and built deep roots in this community. We believe in the values of a strong and safe community.
I have been honoured to serve on the board of the Bath Chamber of Commerce, as Director with the Carleton Regional Development Commission, and as a Councillor for the Village of Bath.
My connection to the broader district grew even stronger during the 12 years my wife and I operated the canteen at the Northern Carleton Civic Centre. That experience gave me the opportunity to meet people from across the region and gain a deeper understanding of both the challenges and opportunities we share.
As a self-employed business owner for most of my life, I’ve also had the opportunity to volunteer with and support many organizations, such as fundraising for River View Manor and the Back Pack Program.
Now semi-retired, I have the time, energy, and commitment to serve as a strong voice for our communities. I will work tirelessly to strengthen connections across the district and build on the values we share.
Candidates for Councillor At-Large
Laurel Bradstreet (incumbent)
It has been my privilege to represent the people of the District of Carleton North as Councillor At-Large for the past three years. During this time, I have worked hard to represent residents from all areas of the district and to speak up on issues that matter in our everyday lives. I am proud of the progress we have made together and remain committed to continuing that work.
In addition to my role on council, I stay involved in the community through groups like the Kin Club of Florenceville and by working alongside town staff and volunteers to put on community events, including the Haunted Trail. Being involved in this way keeps me connected to people and helps create strong partnerships and community spirit across the district.
I believe there is still important work to be done, and I feel I can continue to make a positive contribution. I have enjoyed working for residents and appreciate the trust you’ve placed in me. As Councillor At-Large, I will continue to listen, stand up for your concerns, and make decisions that are good for the whole district
I respectfully ask for your continued support so I can keep working to build a strong, welcoming, and vibrant District of Carleton North.
Jayne Geddes
I am a proud resident of Carleton North and have called this community home for the past 10 years, working here for close to 20 years. As the Club Director and Head Coach of River Valley Gymnastics, I work closely with children, teens, and families every day, giving me a clear understanding of the realities many residents are facing.
I am running for Council because I want to give back to a community that has supported me and my organization, and because I believe Carleton North needs strong, active advocacy at the council table. I am committed to being a voice that listens, asks tough questions, and speaks up for residents.
My priorities include advocating for improved access to healthcare, supporting solutions to affordable housing challenges, and ensuring Carleton North remains a place where families and young people can build their future. Through my work, I see firsthand how important it is for people to feel supported, connected, and heard.
I bring leadership experience, a collaborative approach, and the confidence to push for progress where it’s needed. I believe in working together, but also in standing firm when it matters most for our community.
Karen Hargrove (incumbent)
This community is where I was raised and where my roots run deep. Having grown up here, I knew this was the only place I wanted to build my life, and I am proud to be raising our three children here alongside my husband.
My perspective is shaped by my experience as a local business owner, which has given me a firsthand understanding of the hard work and dedication required to help our region thrive. I first ran for council because I wanted to be a voice during amalgamation, ensuring that the decisions made would benefit our entire district for generations to come.
I remain deeply committed to that work. Beyond council, I serve on the Andrew and Laura McCain Library board and volunteer with the River Valley 4-H Club, where I see the incredible potential of our youth.
Most of all, I want to be your voice. Whether at the grocery store or the post office, please share your ideas or concerns with me. It has been an honour to serve you for the past 3.5 years, and I ask for your support to continue representing this area.
Kirby Jensen
I am running for council because I want to bring some fresh ideas to the table.
I have worked for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure for over 15 years, including in management roles at multiple locations.
I also have also served on the executive for CUPE 1190, which has helped me better understand how the government works.
I am easy to approach and not afraid to speak up. I will listen to your concerns and make sure your voice is heard at the council table.
David Trafford
I was born in Bath and grew up on a farm in Connell. I attended school in Florenceville and graduated in 1977. I have lived in the area my whole life except for the time I was away at school in Halifax or serving in the Armed Forces.
I have past service on the Village of Florenceville and Florenceville-Bristol council. I served the area for twenty five years as a Paramedic and I served the country for thirteen years in the Military. I am retired now and I am ready to serve again on Council.
On May 11 I humbly ask for your vote.
Candidates for Councillor Ward 1
Nick Anderson
I am running for Councillor for Ward 1. I am a retired military veteran with 15 years of service in the infantry and naval communications. I moved to New Brunswick with my wife in 2023 seeking a quieter life and stronger community ties.
Since arriving, I’ve built connections with neighbors, local homesteaders, farmers, and my congregation. Through these conversations, I’ve learned about the daily challenges our community faces.
As your Councillor, my goal is to listen to your concerns and take action to improve your lives. Self-reliance and sustainability are core values I want to promote, helping every family thrive in uncertain times.
I am concerned about rising crime and theft. I will work on practical solutions to make our community safer for future generations.
Coming from out of province, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t in municipal government. This fresh perspective will benefit Ward 1.
I’m passionate about creating positive change, starting with this campaign to build a better future for our families.
Lottie Nye
I have lived in Carleton County my entire life. Raised 3 daughters and been married to the best guy, Stephen.
My interest in running is because of my deep roots here and I now have time to devote to the District of Carleton North.
As the world changes around us we need to be ready for that, while never losing sight of who we are. Listening , learning and sharing ideas with this Ward is part of this mandate. Keeping people informed and by allowing me to be a Councillor I will never close the door on anyone. Making informed decisions by assuring our needs are at the forefront. Know that you will have a Councillor who will care for you. All of you.
Ward 1 and all Wards count!
Municipal Elections are one of the most important Elections. This is where we live and our tax base start. I would like to be part of keeping the taxes down. I wold love the chance to work with you.
Michael Stewart (incumbent)
I am seeking re-election in the May 11 municipal election because I care deeply about this community and believe there is still important work to be done. While we have made positive progress, there are ongoing issues that require experience, commitment, and steady leadership. I want to continue representing the people of Ward 1, ensuring concerns are heard and thoughtfully considered at the council table. I value working collaboratively with residents and fellow council members to create practical solutions that make a real difference.
I bring experience, a practical and common-sense approach, and a strong commitment to listening to residents. I make it a priority to return calls, ask questions, and make fair, well-informed decisions that respect taxpayers.
One of the greatest challenges facing our community is maintaining the quality of life we value while managing rising costs. We must continue investing in roads and essential services without placing undue pressure on taxpayers, which requires careful planning, balance, and a focus on long-term sustainability.
Candidates for Councillor Ward 2
Tammy Nicholson-Kirkland
Rooted in Community. Driven to Serve.
I was born and raised right here in our community. I’ve spent my life watching our fields being harvested, our truck drivers keep this region moving, and our local industries grow from the ground up.
For the past 14 years, I’ve managed a non-profit organization, working alongside dedicated board members to make decisions that help our community grow and bring more tourism to our area.
I’m proud to be a member of the Rotary Club of Florenceville-Bristol, involved in my local church, and someone who believes in giving back—whether that’s volunteering at hockey tournaments, helping with school breakfast programs, or supporting elderly family members through the winter months.
These experiences have connected me with people from all walks of life and shown me both the challenges we face and the strength we have when we support one another.
That’s why I’m running for Ward 2.
Because I believe our community deserves to be heard, represented, and supported—every single day.
Chris O’Donnell
I live in Greenfield with my wife, Billie-Jo , I have lived in the district all of my life, my parents are from Juniper and Johnville giving me deep roots the Carleton area.
I have volunteered most of my life, beginning at a young age coaching girls and boys baseball and hockey, spending countless evenings on the field or rink teaching youth the importance of teamwork. About 20 years ago, I expanded my focus by joining the Legion, where I served in roles including President and Treasurer, with my highest honour being the Deputy District Commander for three years.
I spent most of my working career locally, starting at McCain’s and farming during high school, followed by 21 years at Thomas Equipment in Centreville. After its closure, I worked in the Woodstock–Hartland area and plan to semi‑retire this summer.
Through my years working with youth, I’ve seen many leave the area, often because they feel there is little nightlife, entertainment, or opportunities to socialize. While work and housing exist, young adults need more, and this is an issue we must address. At the same time, we must improve facilities and support for our elderly, who built this strong district, while the youth will help sustain and grow it.
One of my main reasons for running for Councillor is the lack of communication. We need to do better at sharing information, listening, and providing feedback. Many residents—especially seniors—are unaware of their ward, who their Councillor is, or what a Councillor At‑Large does. Communication is essential. Finally, accountability matters. Residents deserve transparency around how tax dollars are spent and greater input on priorities across the district. Communication and feedback are key.
Connie Smith
I am proud to be a lifelong resident of Carleton County. Growing up on a small mixed family farm in Moose Mountain shaped my values early—hard work, responsibility, and the importance of looking out for one another. Those values continue to guide both my professional career and my commitment to community service.
Professionally, I have spent over 15 years with a global food company, currently serving as Manager of Global Travel Services. In this role, I manage budgets, negotiate contracts, build long-term partnerships, and work closely with diverse stakeholders to deliver practical, data-driven solutions. These experiences have strengthened my skills in financial oversight, strategic planning, collaboration, and accountability—skills that are directly relevant to responsible municipal governance.
Beyond my career, community involvement has always been a priority. I have served as a member & Co-Chair of Parent Student Support Committees within the District of Carleton North, volunteered with McCain supporting student STEAM initiatives, and contributed to local food security efforts and community support programs. I also bring governance experience from serving on national and global boards, where collaboration, transparency, and respectful decision-making were essential.
I am seeking a position on Town Council because I care deeply about the future of our community. I believe in practical, thoughtful leadership that listens to residents, respects public resources, and works toward sustainable solutions that strengthen quality of life for families, seniors, and vulnerable populations. I am committed to representing our community with integrity, respect, and a strong work ethic—and I would be honoured to earn your trust and your vote.
Chala Watson (incumbent)
I have proudly represented Ward 2 on council for the District of Carleton North for the past term. Over the last 3.5 years, I have worked hard to be a strong and effective voice on the issues that matter most to our community.
I have always been involved in my community through coaching baseball, managing local and school hockey teams, and organizing fundraisers and events. A successful community depends on many people working together.
I bring over a decade of experience in Provincial and Municipal Government, from serving as a Constituency Assistant for the MLA for Carleton-Victoria to working as an Executive Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Environment and Local Government. This experience has given me a strong understanding how government operates, what funding and resources are available, and how to access them.
I am committed to providing strong representation for Ward 2 and the District as a whole, with focus on accountability, fiscal responsibility, and transparency. If re-elected, I will continue to listen to residents and advocate on your behalf, ensuring decisions are made with the best interest of our communities in mind.
My priorities include supporting local business, strengthening community outreach, expanding our workforce, and investing in infrastructure, healthcare, and policing services. With rising costs, it is more important than ever to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely to improve quality of life.
I am focused on real, visible results and building a safe, vibrant community. I respectfully ask for your continued support as we continue putting Ward 2 and the District of Carleton North first.

The past three years have been both challenging and rewarding, and I have been overwhelmed with the support and positive feedback on our work to make meaningful investments in our community.

I am proud to be running for the Ward 4 Town Council seat. I have been a dedicated member of the Florenceville-Bristol community for many years, and it is a place I am truly proud to call home.
Throughout my time here, I have had the privilege of working closely with the public, building strong relationships, and supporting our community. I’ve been involved in planning several local events that bring people together and strengthen the connections that make our town so special. I’ve also hosted various painting and craft workshops, and during my time at Home Hardware, I helped plan and organize ladies’ nights that created fun, welcoming spaces for people to connect.
Another meaningful part of my experience has been welcoming newcomers to our town—helping them find housing, answering questions, and sharing what makes this community such a great place to live. It’s something I truly enjoy and take pride in, and it has given me valuable insight into the needs of both new and long-time residents.
I care deeply about the people who live here and the future of our town.
