6th Annual Joyce Tompkins Memorial Fishing Derby

May 25 @ 7:00 am - 2:00 pm

What is the Annual Pickerel Fishing Tournament in Lakeville, you may ask.

The Annual Fishing Derby started out in 1998, which was once called the Poor man’s Pickerel Tournament and has since changed to Joyce Tompkins Memorial Fishing Derby 6 years ago in memory of a wonderful volunteer.
Men, women & children come from nearby communities to join in the excitement of fishing.
Teams of 2 have come to try their luck to catch the largest pickerel from Williamstown Lake. The lake is 400 acres of great pickerel fishing. Each team has 6 hours to collect 5 of the largest pickerel they can catch and bring them back alive to the community center for weigh in.
Registration starts @ 7am with the teams grabbing a coffee/tea, a snack and out on the lake they go! Registration fee is $50 per team of 2, only teams of 2 are allowed to make it a fair competition. We will be selling 50/50 tickets along with a BBQ on site from 12-2pm, all proceeds from this event will go to the upkeep of our community center.
Cash prizes are awarded to the team that has the heaviest total weight of their 5 pickerel, the team that has the longest pickerel and the team that has the smallest pickerel.
Thanks to the generosity of the local business’s donations that allows us to have prizes for all participants.

Come join us this year on May 25, 2024, from 7am-2pm, located at 2141 Rte. 560 Lakeville, NB.

$50 per team of 2
