There is something truly captivating about Juno Award nominee Kellie Loder. They are a passionate storyteller and accomplished songwriter with a voice that conveys warmth and power. Their unrivaled lyrical brilliance is honest and vulnerable in ways that make the music feel deeply personal. Inspiring profound emotion among audiences with their heartfelt songwriting and playful charm, Loder is nothing short of, “a bona fide entertainer,” theindependent.ca. Possessing a unique ability to work a room effortlessly, they will have you crying, laughing and everything in between. It’s no wonder CBC q’s Tom Power holds Loder in such high regard stating, “If I were a betting man, I’d bet the house on Kellie Loder being the next big thing out of Newfoundland”.
Described as, “a multi-genre marvel” by Hidden-Beats, Kellie’s musical journey began on the shores of Newfoundland & Labrador, lending to their unmatched songwriting prowess, and distinctive blend of folk, Americana and indie pop influences. Loder’s signature sound coupled with their magnetic stage presence has earned them notable accolades including, “Songwriter of the Year”, and “Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year” at the 2023 East Coast Music Awards, placing first-runner-up on Canada’s Got Talent (2022), and co-writing with household names such as Alan Doyle, Steven Page, The Good Lovelies, and Grammy award-winning musician and producer, Greg Wells to name a few. Loder’s empowering anthem, “Fearless” was used as the soundtrack behind the CBC’s Tokyo Olympics coverage and in the Superpower Dogs IMAX Trailer narrated by Chris Evans (Captain America/Avengers). Their groundbreaking video and compelling song “Molded Like A Monster” was recognized with the 2021 ECMA Video of the Year Award and the MusicNL Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year Award.
Born to be on stage, Loder’s unmistakable charisma and star power pulls audiences into the music, creating an intimate adventure, almost as if you were the only two in the room. When performing on Canada’s Got Talent, Loder floored celebrity judge Howie Mandel. He expressed, “I feel like you got us. We’re in the palm of your hand. The fact that you are so comfortable, you bring us in with you.” Also praising Loder’s mesmerizing live show is Canadian rapper and record executive Kardinal Offishall stating, “There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people who will connect with your authenticity, with the energy that you brought, with that feeling. I think who you are is a megastar.” Anyone who has heard Loder or watched them perform knows they have charisma in spades and seeing them live is “an experience you don’t want to miss.” (Soundcheck Entertainment).
On Loder’s third studio album, Benefit of the Doubt (2018) their musical talent and songwriting ability truly shines through delivering a storybook of powerful anthems and contrasting delicate love songs that bring together a work of musical bliss. As Canadian Beats puts it, “The songs read like a diary; pure emotions put to beautifully crafted melodies of guitars, pianos, and violins.” The incredible groundwork made on this album will serve as the foundation for Kellie’s highly anticipated fourth studio record set to drop globally in 2024. Elevating themselves to new heights, the upcoming album is a stunningly crafted masterpiece of original songs with stories of love, heartbreak, life, and transitions. “When It Comes to You”, the featured lead single gives listeners a glimpse of the pure authenticity of one of Canada’s most promising and celebrated songwriters. As spoken by Howie Mandal and Simon Cowell (CGT), Loder has a bright future ahead, and with this next offering, one thing is for certain, Kellie Loder is a towering talent about to explode on the world stage.
