These clinics are a joint initiative of the University of New Brunswick’s Legal Clinic and Public Legal Education and Information Service of New Brunswick (PLEIS NB).
These walk-in clinics provide tenants with up to 30 minutes of free legal advice from a law student supervised by an experienced clinic lawyer. Common issues tenants can receive help with include:
- Rent increases
- Evictions
- Repairs and maintenance
- Security deposits
- Complaints to the Tenant and Landlord Relations Office
No appointment is necessary – clinics operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Tenants are encouraged to arrive early and bring:
- Any paperwork from their landlord or related documents
- A piece of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s licence)
