Iain Dunlop

Iain moved from Scotland as an infant, with his family in 1945 and eventually settled in Grand Falls N.B. After graduating from high school, he attended Teachers College and began his 32 year teaching and 46 year coaching career at Bath High School in 1969.
Iain coached multiple sports but, was most passionate about baseball and basketball. Iain coached and played at all levels of baseball. He founded and coached Babe Ruth baseball, and the Intermediate Men’s Florenceville Firebirds. While in Bath Iain coached high school girls and intermediate boys basketball and founded Bath Minor Basketball. He transferred to Carleton North High School in 1985. At CNHS, Iain coached both varsity and junior varsity boys basketball, and during the summer he ran Basketball Camps International. Iain shared his basketball knowledge to players and coaches, to help build a strong basketball program at CNHS, one that is well respected around the province.

1994 NBIAA Coach of the Year
1996 BNB Outstanding Service Award
1998 BNB Head Coach of the Year
2012-2013 NBIAA Boys AA Basketball Championship (assistant coach)
2019 CNHS gymnasium named in his honour.
Iain Dunlop was an inspirational coach, who nurtured and molded his players into becoming strong athletes and good citizens. He motivated them to take pride in themselves, and work hard. Iain inspired many, to pursue their dreams and contribute to their community. A vision that lives on today.
