Municipal Projects Coordinator

The Municipal Projects Coordinator will work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer to support key initiatives that strengthen the community’s environmental, housing, and infrastructure goals. 

Main Duties:

  • Review and strengthen the District’s solid waste collection system by analyzing current costs and
    operations with the existing service provider.
  • Develop and implement the District’s Solid Waste By-law and pursue funding opportunities to support
    waste management initiatives.
  • Support housing growth by identifying opportunities, building partnerships, and securing funding to
    increase housing supply and diversity.
  • Liaise with the Western NB Service Commission (RSC 12) on land use planning and development to
    align with District priorities.
  • Lead new trail and active transportation projects, securing funding to expand and improve connectivity
    within the District.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff to develop a comprehensive Facility Sustainability Plan for all
    municipal buildings, parks, and public spaces.
  • Identify cost-saving and energy-efficiency opportunities through a structured capital improvement plan.
  • Research and secure grants, subsidies, and incentive programs to support capital and sustainability
    projects.
  • Maximize external funding to reduce local costs while advancing the District’s long-term environmental
    and operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of
    education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in municipal services, sustainability, infrastructure planning, or
    project/grant management.
